Description

At the foothills of the beautiful Platberg Mountain in Harrismith, the Jewel of the Free State, lies the realization of a shared dream - Amadudu Guesthouse. Established by a mother and daughter team, we stive to provide South-African hospitality and service. Your comfort is our pride.

Historical Harrismith, with it's gracious old buildings well known for its beautiful gardens and rich history, is surrounded by boer war battlefields like Spionkop, historical voortrekker sites like Retiefklip, the Drakensberg Mountains and Golden Gate National Park.

It is very centrally situated halfway between Durban and Johannesburg on the N3 highway and is also included on the newly created 'Grasslands Meander'. An airfield is situated right next to town.

Accommodation

Our elegant rustic rooms.......

We have 5 comfortable, well equipped rooms:

Rooms 1 & 2 - Standard rooms. These are not en-suite. There are separate bath, shower and toilet facilities across the hall from the rooms, allocated to guests only. Room has a double bed and room has a queen size bed.

Rooms 3 & 5 - Luxury rooms. These rooms are spacious and have en-suite bathroom facilities.

Room 3 - has a romantic Victorian style bath in open plan style and queen size bed and is often booked by honeymoon couples or couples looking for a romantic getaway.

Room 5 - has a shower in the en-suite bathroom and an extra length, king size bed. This room is spacious enough to accommodate a family of four - we can provide 2 high quality, three-quarter size spring mattresses for children on request.

Room 4 - is our self-catering unit. This room has a fully equipped kitchen, lounge area, dining area and bedroom in open plan style. Four people can be accommodated in this room. It is equipped with one queen size bed and one very comfortable sleeper couch, the size of two three-quarter beds. There is a shower in the en-suite bathroom.
The room has its own, separate entrance and carport parking in front of the room.

Harrismith offers one of the oldest golf courses in the country, restaurants for fine dining and take away food establishments, also restaurants with live singers, karaoke and dancing, gym, swimming pool,tennis court, quaint shopping nooks and cozy coffee shops, boutiques and art & craft stores as well as larger chain clothing stores.
